Kappa Community Development STEM Scholarship Golf Tournament

The Kappa Community Development Foundation Inc. (KCDF) Annual Scholarship Endowment Golf Tournament continues to be the foundation’s primary funding source. The Scholarship Golf tournament is in its second year of operation. The golf tournament funds our ambitious goals of helping “One Community, One Child, One Mind at a Time.” Specifically, we are in the process of endowing two University of Maryland scholarships, while also funding our Summer Math Camp, Guide Right Mentorship Program, A-Man Technology Program and two Teen Summit High School Programs. In addition we have an ongoing commitment to the Winterhaven Homeless Program in Laurel, Md., and 300 Holiday Food Baskets giveaway to disadvantaged families.

We made great progress against our goals during our last fiscal year. Our accomplishments include the completion of the 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 Men of Distinction programs, which were held at Redland and Argyle middle schools; the completion of two high school Teen Summits; and sponsorship of the A-MAN program for African American males between the ages of five and 18 years.

KCDF recently has made a commitment to a new Kappa League mentoring program in Prince George’s County as well.

KCDF depends upon public support to operate and fulfill its mission. Through an alliance with our communities, Kappa Alpha Psi, and government and corporate sponsors, KCDF can and will succeed.
