'Growth through Brotherhood and Community Service'
As the 10th polemarch of the award-winning College Park-Sandy Spring Alumni of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. I bring you greetings.
I am extremely proud to be elected as the polemarch during the 20th season of this great chapter but, while I am the chosen leader, leadership is not about the leader but about the team. This team consists of many strong individual brothers – from all walks of life and many different geographical locations – that come together to make a strong CPSS chapter. We realize that if we want a strong community, we as men have to be involved in building that community and not ancillary to the process. While we have garnered accolades in past years -- the three-time Chapter of the Year winner in the Eastern Province, reclamation program recognition, and national awards for our Guide Right/Kappa League) mentoring program -- we are still pushing to be bigger, better and more effective in our endeavors in supporting our chosen footprint in Prince George and Montgomery counties in Maryland.
At CPSS, we hold honorable achievement in extremely high regard as all Kappa men do and, because of this we are always pushing boundaries to be greater, to be better, to be the “Blueprint” What does it mean to be the “Blueprint”? It means, to create and follow a pattern to achieve in our fraternal endeavors. (ex. Kappa Derby, Kappa Takeover) To this end, we as CPSS always strategize, plan, and follow that plan to achieve what we set out to achieve. If that plan did not get us where we need to be, then we tweak or rework that plan to get us there. When we reach that goal, we strategize and plan on how to get to the next one. Remember, if you are not constantly getting better, you are falling behind, so we never rest on your laurels.
The lifeblood of our bond is brotherhood and we come together to support each other and our community. With that said, we go forward this season with the motto, “Growth through Brotherhood and Community Service”. Come join us and our endeavors!
Sincerely,
T. Dion Baccus | polemarch@cpsskapsi.org
